What is The Speaking Garden?

The Speaking Garden was a multimedia installation inspired by the British Library’s Unearthed exhibition, Leeds Libraries' special collections, and the gardeners and growers of Leeds. Created by Buffalo Sound Design and Leeds Libraries, this installation offered visitors a peaceful space for reflection.

Attendees experienced colourful projected visuals inspired by the special collection, while the soothing soundscape featured a growing ‘garden of voices.’ These voices shared personal insights on what gardening and growing meant to them, along with the lessons they learned and wished to pass on to others.
